Arch Discovery Day

Arch Discovery Day is an annual event attended by all Rensselaer sophomores at the onset of the school year to prepare for the summer term and the semester-away experience.

During Arch Discovery Day, we provide the resources you need to make the most of your Arch experience. You will be introduced to the six types of semester-away opportunities that will apply your academics and interests beyond the typical classroom.

As part of Arch Discovery Day you will:

  • Identify your Semester-Away Term (Spring or Fall) – (selection options opens, January 2025)
  • Explore the different away options and learn how to select a Semester-Away Individual Learning Experience (ILE) 
  • Begin to develop a plan for the Semester-Away and connect with appropriate offices for support.
  • Explore the academic courses available during the Summer Arch term (during Academic Session).
